Icon6 B18C bad tps wiring or ignition maintenance? PICS!

Re posting in here because it's a gsr in a 98 coupe.

I recently bought this 98 coupe from an old co-worker when I was under the employ of Honda Motor Company. I threw a rod in the D-Series, sold him the chassis, he bought the JDM b18C and 'put in the wrench time' on the swap. It's ran good for him the past year and a half.

Shortly after I bought it back from him, it started stumbling around at 25% throttle and eventually threw a trouble code for the TPS. I bought a Dorman from vato zone and decided since the TB had to come off it was a good time to throw on my Skunk2 70mm pictured below!

After installed, I calibrated the sensor and set the idle it ran fine for about the first 45 minutes of driving. Then it would stumble like a bad TPS bog at 25% throttle. After a few days like this and with the sensor reading good sweeps with the multi meter I decided to take it to the dealer. After paying a half hour in labor to read the code and have the idle and sensor set, I drove it off and got another CEL

I would floor it and for a few seconds at WOT I would get the CEL, 1500rpm idle and no VTEC crossover. It started miss firing and would miss at 2K like clock work. I decided to put the stock JDM P72 back in control, in the place of the USDM ITR ecu I was running, and it ran perfect. Not as much power, but drove fine.

Ran ok for a week or so now I have symptoms of a bad TPS. stumbles really bad at low throttle % and is under powered.

Heres my TPS diagnostic findings: .55V at rest key on engine off. It rises smooth to 4.7-9V from there

I have a constant 5V to the sensor with the DMM ground on the battery, and I tested the ground on the sensor by connecting the lead to the ground wire Read solid 5V so that should mean the ground is good? I'm not sure how else to check for ground with the DMM

I also checked the sensor with the engine running and got .29v but after hitting the throttle it stayed at .45 at idle. I coudn't do an effective sweep with the motor running because I dont like revving it up high when not under load. but at low % it seemed ok.

My stock D-series throttle cable is kind of short so its tight always and its at funny angle. The intake manifold is a type R replica and I think I need maybe a type R throttle cable holder (?) to get it sitting straight.

I put the skunk 2 sticker on because I had a CARB sticker for a skunk 2 intake mani

So I'm wondering if it's possible if the wire carrying the signal voltage from the sensor back to the ECU is bad some where after the sensor? The wire is exposed from when I replaced the sensor the first time I dont think that could be the real issue? its been my handy easy access tps check port

I have a feeling I might not have a TPS issue but need plugs/ wires/ cap/ rotor. the cap has dust and the rotor a bit old and the wires are worn. But I don't think it would only really stumble and hesitate at only 25-50% throttle.

I'm going to replace all that when I get my pay check cause it needs it regardless of my issue. I'm not sure where the TPS wires go after they join the rest of the harness, so I don't know where to check the signal next. Maybe just pull the pin at the ECU and check it?

Anyways here's some bonus shots I took today during my little photoshoot

I gotta paint that valve cover ASAP!!!!

Paint is 2 year old krylon camo green. and satin black
Daimond Racing wheels ain't got nothin on my Brand new OEM honda 15'' steelies with my 205/60/ R15s!!!

Kustom smoked tail lights homles!

Did u chip the p72 ecu when u slapped on the sk2 manni? If u didn't chip it, the stock p72 ecu has a sensor for the butterflies to open for the stoc gsr manni. I believe that might cause u not to engage in vtec. Chip ur ecu and have it program to not look for the butterflies.

As far as the car stumbling at low idle, have u check to see if ur getting enough fuel pressure?

I didn't chip the ECU I know about those GSR butterflies, it just adds fuel when they're supposed to open. vtec will engage normally but on occasion I get a CEL at WOT and it goes back to the primary lobe. It stumbles bad from 0-50% throttle but the sensor with the engine off sweeps a perfect .4-5v.
