I was at the IFO Bakersfield event this past Sunday and was able to pick up my flier for the 2014 IDRC race schedule. Everyone should get their cars done if they haven't already, because it looks like Cali is getting some love with two events scheduled at Fontana and then one in Vegas. Plus these are 2-day events which will be nice for a change and you will also get a free 12-issue subscription to DSPORT magazine. Now, who doesn't like free stuff? I know I do. So it looks like I'll be at those 3 for sure.

Who else is down to make these events?

June 7-8, Bandimere, CO
August 15-17, Norwalk, OH
September 12-13, Las Vegas, NV
October 18-19, Fontana CA

 

Too bad the Ohio event is a DSM event.

IDRC is actually October 18-19...it will be great to be back at Fontana this year! Excited to hit the track again.

 

I wonder if cliff is aware of this?. we would love the cali people to show up to tucson ifo.

 

I'm aware, but there's nothing i can do about it. Our date was already set with the Tucson track months ago.

 

Finally...1/4 mile event in Socal. It's been like what 3..almost 4 years of no 1/4 mile drag racing out here. I cannot wait. I have been running 1/8th mile tracks the last 3 years...fun but too short. Thanks IDRC for bringing back a 2 day event.

Haha, that's what I have heard. I am down to go crashing, I am sure a few other local Hondas are as well.

Probably not. Someone involved with idrc needs to get in contact with Dave buschur and put some other classes like the rest of the idrc events.

 

If memory serves me correct, Fontana has been closed for a year or so. NMCA has held an event a Pomona the last two years and IFO has been at Bakersfield. NMCA will be in Pomona and Fontana this year. It is a very v8 friendly crowd.

 

Anyone know what the class rules will be? I checked importdrag.com and rules still state 2006. Are they still using same rules or revised rules? Will there be a fwd turbo class that requires full exhaust to exit rear of car. I'm making a few changes to my car and need to know class rules to make my setup accordingly to this event and oncoming IFO events. Thanks in advance to anyone with answers!

 

i heard rules were supposed to be released by march 1, but who knows these days. No one is ever on time with that.

 

I also heard they were to be released on the 1st. Today is the 4th and still nothing. Guess I'll check again before I get retuned.

 

I was thinking the same thing about the rules, so I called over there and asked to see when the rules were going to be posted. They said that they were just wrapping them up and they should be posted sometime next week. From what I heard was the rules were very similar to the IFO rules. But we will hopefully see next week. Stay tuned and if I hear anything sooner, I will let you all know.

One thing i can say is weight breaks for smaller turbo cars in the FWD class, Adding weight for NOS, Pretty much damn near everything else is like the IFO rules....

Example: If you got a 67mm car you can weigh like 2150 if you got a 72mm turbo you gotta weigh 2450.... If you got a 72mm and NOS you gotta weigh 2600lbs

And remember that the payout is for a 32car field.... Not like IFO were you only need a 8 car field, so people need to show up to get the full payout....

Word, i thought the last bakersfield race the payout went up to $1500, the tech card went to $50 and the payout car field went to 16 from 8 cars.... Anyway still good hahahaa
