I dont want to just get a junk2 "bend" short shifter yada yada...
B&M Makes a kit that looks....meh...ok i guess. But does anyone have experience with an awesome shift kit?
One of my friends had a E36 M3 and put a Rouge shift kit in it... Holy good god. It felt FANTASTIC. Nice notchy stiff shifting. CLICK. CLICK.
Anyone got any suggestions?

well Ive had a Junk2 for years and never issue and feels fine to me,
that stiff notchy feeling you won't get with our type of transmissions because not designed that way (shifter not directly in trasmission)

fastline long *** ones if want that

Get shifter bushings and call it a day. The feel and throw of a stock ITR shifter is damn good. I've had Skunk2, Fastline Performance, B&M and Buddy Club. Nothing feels as good as the stock IMO.
x2 Ive tried all the above except the fastline. And IMO its a pointless upgrade. C's also makes a 'kit' Ive always wanted to try but its hard to find and $$$$
You must have misread my post...Id also like to know as well.
I did a little research on it at one time and from what Ive read its not a 'short' throw shifter, it retains the stock shifting dynamics but locates the **** closer to the wheel for road racing applications.

That review thread brings back memories
. After a couple years I just got sick of it. Yes it minimizes the distance between steering wheel and shifter but after switching back to OEM it just felt right. I have had zero issues on track with the OEM. The K-Tuned B series shifter looks intriguing though.
The main problem with these "short shifters" is that they change the geometry and it can reek havoc on tranny bearings and bend forks during aggressive driving.

I've heard this many times through the years. I've had a cheap knockoff dual bend in my R 01 and never had the first tranny issue but then again I don't slam shift the car even when ripping down the 1320. I just don't try to yank second gear out by the roots.
Just refresh the bushings and get a circuit hero extension. That's what I just started using and it's the perfect height. Total price retails for $50 for it all, also cheaper than anything else.
Never had an issue with my skunk2 in my 6 years and 2 different cars it was installed in. I did break a shitty b&m one though. Not sure why you want a stiff notchy feel, bmw's shift like **** after being spoiled with honda transmissions.

Correct me if I am wrong here, but those K-Tuned shifters dont hold the boot in place so it sags. Probably would look better to just remove the boot all together or rig a washer on the shaft to hold the boot in place
Fastline shifter here, bought it from Big Phat R quite a while ago. Have had it in the car for I think two years now. Really like the positioning of it. Whoever said it does not make the throw shorter was correct. Same throw as factory, but it puts the shifter right up near the steering wheel. I can fully understand why some don't like it, it is a drastic change in position from factory shifter so if that isn't what you're after then it isn't the shifter for you.
Don't think it was a dual bend but TWM (hope I called it correctly) was name I heard a lot of good feedback about 8 or more years ago.
