tranny for boost
for all my boosters out there im looking for advise for what transmission to use for a boosted h22a, power range im looking for is about 350 dd 500 when someone wants to race, and maybe close to 600 at the track.
i know traction is an issue, im currently running the t2t4 on my h22 now which is just stock, from what it looks like i will more than likely spin 1-4 with 500 hp, i was thinking about an f series transmission but i dont want the gears to be tooo long
transmission in mind is currently the m2j5 which is off the f22b jdm dual cam non vtec, this tranny is not as long as the m2l5 but not as short as any of the h23 trannies either. ive done alot of research but it seems as if no one can give a straight answer as to which tranny would work the best, my goal is to avoid excessive wheel spin, still get good mileage, and have good use of the power band if i make 500
please throw your set ups out there or your experiences, even with h22 transmission or what was done to get better traction (tire wheel traction bar combos ect.) any help will be appreciated.
this set up will be in a cd5 95 ex 4door

what tires are you running?
do you have coilovers? If so what's the front- rear heights/springs/shock settings, etc.
do not bother with the transmission until you get it dyno'd and you know what power and you will be working with.
you can also look into tuning methods that limit boost at lower gears.

thanks for your reply dread
im in the process of building now so i havent specd out tires and anything yet, i will be getting professional help with the build but i just wanted to get my research out the way, and the only thing that is left is the tranny.
i was hoping to avoid the whole waiting for to see how the tranny would react to decide on the tranny, but most people say i should wait, was just seeing what experiences were out there
i currently have d2 fully adjustable all around, not slammed but low riding on the spring rate that d2 sent with the coilovers, i have camber but its easy to correct at my height with 17s . plan on using this height with the build and this spring rate but if need be i can adjust the sus. to be stiffer.
