JDM ITR BRAKES AXLE HELP
So, I been searching for over 3 days for a definite answer about these damn axles. Can someone give me an answer without someone else contradicting about which axles I could use for my JDM ITR brakes that are 36mm. I bought some dinky ones off ebay and if you do anything like lower the car it makes a *thud thud thud* sound. Im guessing its missing a spline or something. Options right now are buying another set of LS axles and having a shop take out the outer spline on mine now and putting it to those, buy some JDM axles (used) for $275, or go with WHOEVER gives me a definite answer and buy some RSX S like they say or PRELUDE S 97 axles. Please help.
Cliff note... need help on finding axles for JDM ITR brakes with a B Series motor... Any help THANKS!!!!

www.raxles.com (First because Marty is awesome and so is his product) If he doesn't have what you're looking for I'm sure he can put it together for you. Axles are $200 ea, shipped, from FL. Same day if in stock.
http://www.insaneshafts.com/ Has them for d & b series applications. I haven't used them but they have pretty good reviews. $369 for a set.
www.driveshaftshop.com Been around forever. Pretty sure they have what you're looking for, $400 a set from what I remember. Website is down at the moment so I can't check.

Thanks for the reply... Kinda more pricey that i thought but def a big help. I can get some JDM ITR's with new boots and stuff for $275. Didnt want to even spend that much thats why i thought there was an alternative route i can go.
Cheers to you too... always good to meet a local on here!

You get what you pay for when it comes to axles.
-New boots or not, the JDM axles are still at least 13 years old and of unknown history.
-Parts store axles are ****. End of story on those.
I used to use the lifetime axles from Autozone or Napa or wherever and I stopped having strange vibrations and axle issues in general when I went away from them. They buy bottom of the barrel **** from overseas at $8 an axle, box them up, and sell them to you with a warranty. The boots suck, the bearings are terrible, and the races usually aren't hardened very well if they're even ground properly. You already threw money away buying one set of cheap axles, so now you're out an extra $100 or whatever no matter what you buy next.
I'll never go back.

Well, yesterday I bought a pair of prelude 97 base axle and today went and picked them up and installed. Everything fit like a glove but I wont know how it is when driving till tomorrow... somehow my balljoint bolt bent a little. I will put an update with the actual outcome tomorrow. Thanks for both your help!
OK, so that def didn't work... I don't know if its maybe installer error but theres only one way to put them on. Im having a friend come and take a look at them tomorrow... When I drive its doing the thud thud thud even worse now.
I sent you a PM earlier. If you are using an open differential transmission, the passenger side input shaft will be 2 mm longer on the Prelude S axle. If you have an LSD, then the input shaft will be fine. I ended up getting MFactory race axles that were made specifically for the 98 JDM ITR.
I had that thud on mine too, and that was the least of my problems, as I had oil leaking from the input shaft seal. The seal went bad because of the vibration caused by the axle not seating properly.

One reason I would take Raxles over those is that Raxles are the only aftermarket axles I know of that come with the oem style dampers on them, and also come with the outer seals.
Other than that Driveshaft Shop makes a good product.
