Default 2000 civic si b16a2 issue

hey guys just literally made this page today because i always come to this site when i encounter problems with my car but this one is more serious than usual. Car was running with low oil and i've never hit red line at 8000rpms but all of sudden when i leave for work i hear a knocking sound coming from my engine when car is turned on. Could be a bent piston rod or bent valves.. just looking for suggestions or any ideas, anything helps right now! thank you!

Most likely you spun a rod bearing. Have fun with the engine rebuild.

Haha... dozens. If you are asking you would be MUCH better off paying a shop to do it for you.

Just sounds like a spun bearing, worst case you may have scarred the crank if you drove on it for too long.
A monkey can rebuild an engine, it's not rocket science if you know how to use tools.
Set aside a weekend, take your time, and follow the repair manual.
Don't skip ANY steps, and don't cut any corners - new rings, seals and bearings all around.
Should only run you like $300 in parts, and it'll give you a new appreciation for your engine

I beg to differ with your comment on "monkey's can build engines". You don't frequent the chassis forums very much and see all the stupidity do you?
