anyone with tranny experience?
Looking at some short gear ratio kit's.
blah blah blah, long story short I'm wondering about the final drive for 5th/6th gear.
my math is averaging around 4500-4800 rpm @75 mph.
what im wondering is if anyone has some what of a F/D and or G/R that reflects my numbers above, that you drive with? it crazy loud on the highway's? any obvious and noticeable negative effects on engine/tranny wear?

post this up in the road racing/time attack/auto x section lots of experienced ppl there. For a k-series trans you could get a dog-box with custom ratios if you have the $. http://magnusmotorsports.com/product.../#.UvknnbCPLIU

Do the numbers with that, and it'll hand you what you need to know.

So...you want us to answer an extremely vague, general question? Yes, the higher you're revving, the louder your car will be. That's called common sense. If you want to hear how it'll sound when revving at that RPM, leave it in 4th while driving at that RPM. BOOM, there's your question answered! Yes, the higher you're revving, the higher your transmission fluid temps will be, which will deteriorate the fluid faster. That's also called common sense. Do you have any specific, non-generic questions?

maybe my post is worded weird, of you do not understand. im simply asking with a gearing setup like that. personal opinions of anyone has somewhat of a ratio like that... how they find themselves... the sound, and any excessive engine wear when compared to normal engine wear.
i dunno what i did to be treated in a rude manner. just asking for an opinion. i understand it will be loud"er" im wondering, bearable louder or like getting pulled over every 5mins louder.
simple as that, sry if my questions seems dumb, but when im legit asking a question, i dont understand why i have to be responded to in a rude why even if my question seems stupid to you. yes you are smarter then me, so rather than bash me, please enlighten me.
