Default GF's 98 accord ex tranny issue.

So my girls accord has an f22 and the tranny has began to slip. Only in first gear when you give it half throttle or more it revs up and then kicks down. Not hard but you can feel it. Every other gear is smooth as butter. Car only has 136k on it so i cant imagine it would be the tranny. Any thoughts?

Tranny.

It is a common issue. I would trade it in/sell it asap before it gets worse.

And yes, it's very likely the transmission.

You do realize a used tranny from a junkyard with a working warranty is only a few hundred right? Really wouldn't sell or trade an immaculate car because of a few hundred bucks........

Glad you doubt someone you've never met and have No background information on. I do have the tools and I do have the experience in swapping out engines/transmissions. My question was in regard to the issue at hand not if I should sell, trade or have the tools to swap.

This is why I stick to vehicle specific forums for my ep3 and cd5. Honda tech is like the rain forest from the ground, sure there are some bright spots here and there, but Most of it's shady and dull.......

Oh jeez. Sorry for trying to help and explaining that the transmission is going bad. I mean you didn't even realize that it is a sign of a transmission going bad? Not to mention if you actually had any sort of work ethic you would have searched the damn forum first and found hundreds of threads regarding the issue. Or even Google....ever heard of it?

Maybe you could have explained your mechanical skills or that you are capable of testing various components to try and track down the actual issue. But I mean hey, if you don't even realize why a transmission is slipping, you seem pretty stupid to me. Hell, you don't even know what motor is in the thing.

Good luck asshat. No need to come back to the Accord forum We won't miss you.
