e85 on 92 hatch build
Alright guys so im gonna be running e85 on my high compression build, live in california, e85 is cheaper and easier to find then 93 octane. questions on what upgrades do i need to the fuel system for relieablity. current fuel upgrades are, 255lph fuel pump, rc 310 injectors, and fuel pressure regulator. Any lines need to be upgraded or anything? ive head things will rust over time.
I'm sure there are. But, even though you chassis may be a 5th/6th gen civic, your question is in now way model specific.

First of all, what's your set up and horse power goals.
e85 it's know for being cheaper and for the excellent performance results.
But you have to take a few things on account:
1- Your actual 255 most sure (walbro) isn't e85 compatible. (works for a while). Need a e85 compatible pump.
2- The e85 need about the double of injector capacity to made the same HP you actually made. hence the 2000cc injectors on cars that made the same horsepower in c16 with 1000cc.
3- The e85 is cheaper but you visit the gas station much frequently.
Just a little info. to think.

I'm going to guess you don't understand the math behind injector sizing. Try 25% bigger, not double. More specifically, 23.077% bigger.

well my compression is 13.1 and in california 91 is the highest octane easy to find so e85 is the next bet. for this set up i didnt the math and basically a 600cc injector would be ideal. -_-
13:1 in what block ? at what bore & R/S ratio ?(just curious) 600 will be fine I'm doing 12:5:1 on 91 with 440CC grams injectors i pushed 248/162.
The injector comparison I post is simply to let the op know there's a difference in injector sizing (this is up for his tuner) by any means an exactly equation.
The fuel pump comment(not personal experience) is based on a thread on forced induction of several pages of statements of fails on regular non compatible e85 pumps.
But always is good someone to bring real numbers and facts!!!

Compression doesn't decide how much fuel, power levels do. 600cc injectors @ 80% max duty (comfortable wiggle room) will cap you around 280BHP NA.
Hint: You won't make that much power.
310's would have you capped around 145, which is more realistic. Personally, I would just run with some DSM 450's and call it a day. They're cheap, easy to find, and would cap you around 210.
