You could have a crack in the block. What is the compression test values?

Also, you can't just replace the gasket, the head has to either be resurfaced or it needs to be heated in an oven and straightened back out.

so im to imports but like any other engine block check to see if you if your leaking any where around the gasket. If so you might have he wrong gasket size or add just a tiny amount of gasket silicone and go from there.

Not to get off topic from the coolant issue. but I am looking at a 94 civic with a greddy turbo 110k on car. the block has been knifed and balanced the car has no rust and want 4500 good deal or pass. like I said before this is a new market for me :-)

Just did a compression test 195 190 185 190 , honda said do not put silicone on the head gasket, no leaks around the block, the gunk is light brown ,no red tint to it

Yes, you never use rtv. Did you ? Seems kinda silly lol

Since your compression is good you should get a hold of a coolant pressure tester. Assuming you have no external coolant leaks, if the block is cracked it will struggle to hold pressure.

Is it alot of oil? Is it possible, when you changed the head gasket you spilled some oil into the block coolant jackets? I know when I did mine, i dropped the head as I was lifting it off block, it flipped upside down, and poured out oil into the jackets, mixing with the coolant left in the block. Took a while before I got it all out. but yeah, id get me a coolant pressure tester.

I like that theory. He did say he replaced it twice but it coulda happened both times. It would depend on how much is in the cooling system. Also, what does the oil look like ? I would do an oil change and see what's going on with the oil.

Assuming you have oil and coolant mixing, simply draining and filling the two isn't going to solve anything. You still haven't established what the issue is.
