Is this 1994 Honda Accord EX Rack/Pinion?
Hi Guys-
I bought this Rack/Pinion from junkyard today.
Not sure, if it's a right fit, since it's NOT a GENUINE part.
Boots, all lines and tie-rods are in pretty good condition, but my question is, is this a right part?
Please see attached image with part Number/Info.
Would really appreciate if any of you can confirm about the part.

From my understanding the Showa racks are a rebuild of a factory rack and gear box. It should fit if it was built for an Accord.
From some of the reviews that I have read. The rebuilt racks don't always feel like an OEM. They can feel looser or tighter than your OEM unit felt.

I can still exchange it, should I stick to OEM ones or this? I saw '2' OEM ones, there boots and inner tie rods were in really bad condition.
Will you guys be able to tell if it's a right part for my car or no, if I provide more picts? I tried searching online for that part, didn't come with anything

Thanks for all the help bro and finally I took your advice and gave up on stripped thread in the pinion
A rebuilt rack should be OK.
If you take some measurements I can compare them to my OEM rack that I have down in my shop.
Length of the tube, the outside diameter, distance of the mounting brackets from the tube ends and center to center of the mounts. Stuff like that.
Here is my rack for visual comparison,

As always, thanks so much for helping out 'GhostAccord'
Please see attached picts and dimensions below for more information.
Diameter of Black center pipe = 5.75"
Outer Tie rod to other rod = 54"
Bottom to Top of Shaft =9"
Diameter of Shaft=3"
"Nut'' between Outer/Inner Tie-Rod to other=39"
Between two small pipes= 7"
Between One Bracket to other= 18"
Length of Bracket close to shaft=5.5"
Inner side Bellow boot(close to shaft) from one end to other(close to bracket) = 22"
Please let me know if something is NOT clear, just wanna be 100% sure before I pull apart everything, else I should replace/exchange the part now.

There are a few things that throw me off on that rack. One is the offset of the mounts closest to the steering shaft. Mine are pretty much centered with each other. As well the mounts are situated almost 90° off from the mounting orientation of mine. This would definitely be an issue.
If your 1.8L Accord chassis are the same as our 2.2L. The offset mounting holes won't line up with the chassis holes and the mounting orientation would put the steering shaft pointing out into the engine bay rather than up toward the steering wheel.
The shaft is at a 90° angle from the rack mounting orientation while the one you pictured seems to have the rack mounting orientation inline with the steering shaft.
On my rack the mount orientation is like this = __
while the shaft orientation off the rack is this = |
You should be able to jack up your car and take a look at the mounting arrangement of your current rack. I'm pretty sure that the rack you posted would not work in a USDM 94-97 Accord.

I am in in the US and it's 2.2L EX accord.
So I just looked at the mounts on my current rack/pinion.
Right now holes are like this "|", while on this rack they are "/".
But if you look at the mounting bracket/black color, it seems like it's also "/".
I clearly think, it's NOT the right part. What do you say?

OK sorry, I got you mixed up with another member that had a similar user name that was running a 1.8 Accord overseas. Should have looked at your sig I guess...lol
That is not the correct part for a 5th Gen Accord. Looks like it is from a 6th Gen and it will not work on your Accord.

No worries at all my man.
Cool, thanks again for the help and update.
When I go to exchange the part, anything I should be observant or paying attention, for used Rack/pinion?
