Default paint help

A friend and i bought front bumpers and he went and took it to a local shop and had them paint it and has had it on there for about a month and the paint is already chipping... it is a poly bumper so i guess it doesnt hold the paint as well as fiber bumpers... i really dont want this to happen to mine. is it the base of paint or procedure ? How much you pay for the paint job?
I think fiber glass bumper have more problem with paint.
But both will be fine with a good prep. and paint job.
try to take it back and talk to them..be nice at first
and they seem to yank you around..BITE THEM

Usually, shops will have warrenty on their work. I would march my butt back over there and tell them this ain't acceptable. If it's only been a month, it should still be in some type of warrenty.

BUT,

If you have an aftermarket exhaust, sometimes the tip(s) are too close to the bumper, and the heat will cause the paint to chip. if this is the case, I would say that you're probably not going to be able to get it fixed for free. If this is the case, get some exhaust hangers that will lower the tip a little bit so there's some clearance.

They should use the correct type of paint/additive to make the paint flexible. Car enamel is otherwise very brittle.

the chipping wasnt from the exhaust . it was a front bumper .... so thats why it points toward bad paint shop... here is the link to my bumper w/o paint job... its back to stock bumper for now .
