Default Drop Engineering Driver Side Mount? 96 Honda Civic

Hey HT, I am in need of a replacement driver side mount. The hydraulic mount failed and is leaking.

Has anyone tried the Drop engineering driver side mount? Their website has it up for $45.00. For the price, I might as well go for it, right?

I believe what you want to know can be found on page four (currently) of this same sub section (92-00 civic/del sol).

Here is the thread.

I was JUST about to post this now. Forgot I had this thread to be honest. Does anyone else have any information by chance? I would hate to go by just one persons's recommendations.

hydraulic mount lol what ? the OEM mounts are a hard rubber/PU not hydraulic...forget the stiffness of them but it's low. 45$ for a mount that seems horribly cheap you get what you pay for, I have all 3 mounts in 88A from hasport and love them http://hasport.com/store/index.php/eklh.html

Sometimes you pay more for less just for a name. You don't always get what you pay for. I really dislike that saying "You get what you pay for". Sometimes you get more than you pay for. Mark ups are a bitch most of the time.

I think you just gave your own examples right there. You made my exact point, names don't guarantee quality. What they do guarantee though is a high mark up.

Somethings CAN be bought in knock off form ex dress up washers stuff like that billet wire covers I'm guilty of it lol. But anything else I don't skimp on be it gaskets(VC/VTEC/etc) or things like suspension bolts I go to the Honda dealer. But on my side recently I picked up F7 LCA's with spherical bearings for my integra for 370$ which some would say is nuts, but I see no other companies that are making stuff to such standards as function 7. The aluminum is a higher grade 7075 vs 6061 then the all other guys up(BWR/skunk) and for what I use my car for it's really my only option to use the top shelf parts. I'm not putting anyone down on a budget I was last year but I saved for the top shelf stuff still instead of getting somewhat cheaper stuff.

Actually two people spoke well of them in that thread and a third just got them. Then a fourth person said the 75 durometer poly is more than sufficient for most people which gives me the impression that it surpasses the durometer rating of OEM mounts. Also the first person used them six months before reporting back and still spoke highly of them, that implies pretty solid quality.

The pics show you the welds so you can see they are quality welded. Between the two bits of information you can see it's a confirmed upgrade.

Unfortunately they are out of stock for my EG hatchbacks. I'd spend the extra 15 bucks to get the black poly inserts to get rid of the green but that's me. They appear to be a nice upgrade that easily fits my budget.

Exactly, this is an area of safety and like you just said, you can't find any other manufacturer producing this quality. When that's the case you go name brand.

My point was when you can find similiar quality but for less there is nothing wrong with that and someone shouldn't be dissed just because it's not the name brand.
