Default Throttle body for Mini-Me AUTOMATIC!

Yes, I know this is stupid. But hopefully it will hold me over until I can get my B20V done....

Current setup:
89 DX Hatch
D15B2
Automatic tranny

Goal:
Y8 mini-me

Already have:
Complete Y8 head with intake manifold, TB, inectors (for $40!!!)

Needed parts:
D15B7 dizzy
Y8 HG
Z6 TB
P28 Ecu

So, I plan on doing a mini me swap, but i want to keep it auto (until I go B series). I have read that you can use a manual P28 ECU, and just activate the Lock Up Solenoid manually, easy peasy.

My question is this: What do I do about the cable for the transmission? It goes to the DPFI throttle body. As the throttle is opened, the cable is pulled. After looking at some pics online, none of the Y8 TB's I have seen have a provision for the second cable. Would I be able to just swap the B2 auto pulley onto the Y8 TB?

Again, I know this is silly, but im working with what i've got!

Thanks for any help!

Picked up a B7 Dizzy for $20! Now I just need a HG, TB, and ECU!

Any thoughts on the transmission cable??

look at any auto tb's to see if they will work, otherwise use a "wheel" of another tb and fab spacers and bolt it to the one you will use.

You could always get the throttle body from a 90/91 EX sedan that had an auto.

Damn, perfect! Thank you! So much great info on that site, but it never pops up in a google search...

Do you know if the Auto ECU controls anything other than the TQ Converter lock up solenoid? I want to run a manual P28...

Pretty sure (99.9%) that the auto ECU does lock up along with sluggish mapping.

I wonder if it would be worth your while to get an auto P28 ECU? I'm not sure if the P28 can control the 88~91 lock up solenoid, but it would be nice if it did.
When you do go manual, you can chip and use the auto output for something else - shift light, NOS solenoids, etc.
Or just convert the auto to manual spec - clip The R17 resistor and solder in a wire in place of the R18 resistor

Well I have a manual P28 (already chipped) im getting from a friend. It's really for the B20V, but I would like to use it for the single jingle for now. Its cheap, and easily tunable. That way I can get the most out of the mini-me with a good tune, and then just be a re-tune away from the B20V!

For the lock up solendoid, ill just run a switch into the cabin and control it when i need to (ie. when i reach cruising speed).

Got a throttle body today. Not sure what it's from, but it came with the braket, pulley, and tranny cable! And its 60mm! For $20! The cable looks like the perfect length. Cleaned it up, ported the manifold opening out, and got everything (IACV, FITV, Injectors, etc) cleaned and ready to go!

Now just HG, timing belt, and ECU!
