Your actual motor AFR's should be unaffected. Your "sniffer test" AFR's will be seriously affected.

Ya know what else will be unaffected? Your power.

Did you throw a CEL?
Does your state require emissions testing?

Out of curiosity, did you notice any performance or smoother gear shift changes?

I actually live in Europe. We have emissions test which i failed before.Thats the reason i removed it. Without it the car seems to be better after 7k rpm. Noo shifts are not affected by a cat. =]

lol if you failed with an old cat, you're going to fail even worse with a test pipe.

I suggest you move to China.. they obviously don't give a **** about any type of emissions.

Last year a (let's say..a non-certified) mechanic changed my timing belt, water pump, tensioner, cam seal, accessory belts, new oil + fliter, pcv valve and ripped out the cat screens all in the same day. Afterwards the car shifted much smoother and I attributed that to the lack of back pressure from gutting the cat. Is the new timing belt the reason for a smoother shift? As a side note it has deeper (IMO better) sound to the exhaust after the cat was gutted.

Nope, doesn't work that way. The rest of the tune-up may have made your car shift better, but the gutted cat didn't cause it.
