Default 91 Accord ex shift problems

Hello everybody. I'm new on this site but after reading all of everyone's similar problems I know I am not alone, And Yes this is my first Honda after 52 years of life that my son helped talked me into. So far I have installed a professionally rebuilt motor with all the NEW trimmings all new factory A/C new tires ECT...I wanted a reliable work car! So here is my problem.
Flashing S light we all know the one, gave ma a code of 1 long. So is this 1 or 10?
My symptoms are: If I leave it in D4 and take off sometimes it will rev a little before it catches and then takes off, once moving when it shifts from 1st to 2nd it revs up like it slipped before it catches and the same with 3rd to 4th BUT NOT ALL THE TIME, And if I shift it manually with he T bar starting with 1 and going through the gears it works fine.
So I acted as the code was a 1. Here is what I have done so far.
I found the original lock up solenoid was bad so I replaced it with used ones that checked out fine IE:15 ohms and clicked when activated. I checked and cleaned the shift solenoid, checked and cleaned both speed sensors pulled out the TCU. opened it and found no obvious signs of defects and went as far as putting in a different one with the same part number.
Well I still have a flashing S light the code is the same 1 long can someone out there PLEASE point me in the right direction.

If it is a long blink like [BLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINK] that is code 10, if it was simply [Blink] that would be code 1.

If you are still not sure, an easy way to determine would be to disconnect a known sensor to get a code and then understand how it reads.
With the AT trans I woudl disconnect the NM/NC shaft sensors, one is code 9 the other is 15. Fairly distinct codes and will give you both types of code reading, single digit short blinks, and double digit with the longer 10 blink plus five shorter blinks.

Might want to check your fluid level. Start the car, let it warm up/idle down. Pull the dipstick, wipe it off, reinsert. Place the trans through every gear for ~5 seconds to charge each circuit. Put it back into park, pull the dipstick and check, wipe reinsert, check again. The fluid should be with in the hash marks. I prefer it to be closer to the upper portion of the hash, but that is due to my driving route being hilly with off camber turns.

Well, if it is not 1 then it probably is 10. That would be the water temp sensor. When you check the S/D4 light after that has done blinking does the CEL light also blink a code 6? Better question is, does the CEL light work?

If it is code 10/6 check directly under the distributor. There will be two sensors that are screwed into the cylinder head. One will be a one wire unit, this is for the temp gauge, and the one behind it will be the ECU thermo sensor. That is the one that would set the code if it was bad or disconnected.

The two sensors that are attached to the water outlets are for fan activation.

Just to verify, you did jumper the blue two wire diagnostic connector over/above the kick panel to retrieve your code, right?

Thanks for the shout back. With what you are telling me it is a code 1 and it says lock up solinoid, this solinoid pack checks out ok so I will start tracing the wires back and see if I find a defect.

And by the way the fluld level is good I drained the trans and torque converter and refilled to proper levels with honda fluid before startup. All sensors on the motor are new honda factory and installed in the proper locations.
