Removing entire quarter panels
I have a bunch of 92-00 Civic bare shells...before I scrap them I want to remove the good quarter panels. What would be the most simple method to end up with this? Essentially the entire rear panel not just the proper "quarter panel".
Cut the next side of that same hatch an Extend the running board out more and i'll buy that off you
As above, I have used a sawzall to remove quarters from CB7s. I needed two batteries or had to charge it part way through.

They are a dime a dozen here in BC Canada at the junk yards. Couple hundred bucks. Bad thing is the title gets a rebuild status killing most any value.
I don't care about the value, I'm not planning to sell it, but even if I was it wont matter here, rust free > a rotten car with a clean title.
I sold a complete eg hatch shell like two weeks ago with a damaged radiator support and a messed up roof for 700 bucks. Clean eg hatch shells go for about 1200 here since they are the most desirable shell.
That's not bad. I was looking at $3000 or so to get a bare shell here (no doors, fenders, hatch, glass etc. I finally bought quarters from a car in saskatchewan but haven't put them in yet and would rather just get a good shell.
well I cut up several vehicles a year, ideally a plasma cutter would be nice, however I dont have one, so I use a few different methods, 1 is the already mentioned sawsall, next I like a circular saw with an abrasive cuttoff wheel. its an old school method, not seen much anymore, I also have a Henrob 2000, which is a torch version of a plasma cutter, & does nice when I need to cut through stuff agravating for the sawsall. like heavy wall frames, blind deep sections of heavy wall metal, emergency brake cables, the springiness of the cables will cause you to bend a blade. I also have used standard cut off wheels on my hand held when I just want to save a skin & not cut the whole panel for what ever reason. even my nibbler is used on occasion, usually to cut a good section of relatively straight & smooth metal from a damaged hood to have free metal to make patch sections for next project. I also have several sizes of abrasive cutt off wheels I use on my electric angle grinder, depending on what I am doing.
Dont forget the fire extinguisher! even the sawsall can cause a fire with any gas remaining in gas line you cut. I like to blow air through gas lines to help get rid of any gas that might remain after removing gas tank. but even then sometimes a little is trapped.
