Default Sad day, but time to re-build

Short story: 94 GSR was stolen last week, stripped, and only the body has been recovered. Wife and I are both really sad, but now it is time to re-build! Looking for advice / fun discussion

long story:

My wife has owned the 94 GSR for almost 20 years. I have been using it as a commuter for the past 3 years until it was stolen. We re-built the engine a few years ago, ran beautifully. All for naught now.

I want to make this right, and make this car better than ever. It won't be daily driven any more, I plan to make an all-motor build, and it will be stored in a garage, no longer a commuter. Starting with a $10k budget, but would prefer to stay under if possible.

I am technically weak, but plan to use these forums to learn as much as I can in the coming weeks as I plan the re-build. Any suggestions on drive-trains, suspensions, interior...basically everything (as I only have a shell) would be greatly appreciated!

(my first focus is engine / trans. I want to explore the idea of moving away from a GSR engine and try something new...)

is boost(turbo) in your interest ? you can put down some nice 400+ numbers for 7ish grand. But if you'd like to go all motor no replacement for displacement, K24 swap or a 85MM(sleeved) b-series. Or do you want the car to be geared more towards time attack in other words handling vs outright fast ?. I've had susses with m8 85mm b20V into my time attack car, never owned a turbo Honda tho.

Be unique. Get a jackson racing supercharger mounted on that bee-otch. Tanabe Touring spec exhaust (look up video on youtube, they sound absolutely amazing.). Koni Yellows with GC, run 205s at all 4 corners, maybe some brembos too. I'm out of ideas.

Thanks for responses guys!

I am looking to stick with a NA build, don't want to go the route of blowers or turbos. I don't want to go too crazy, but make a nice all-motor build (wife will be driving it as well)

Keep'em coming!

(I just got confirmation that interior is completely stripped as well )

K series for sure, basic bolt ons should get you with in with semi built b series numbers.

Sorry for your loss though, I've been there before and know how much it sucks.

K24 block with a k20a2 head w/bolt on's a mild cams and a good tune you'll be in most of your budget but you'll have a 250ish+whp N/A toy. If this is a weekend car possibly grab some JDM itr recaro's and Takata 4pt harness, dry ice the sound deadening. Get your curb weight down to 2350ish or less !. I would be pissed if my DD got stolen and striped look into K-Tuned's K-swap packages they have all you need in a bundle and Rywire for the harness http://www.rywire.com/catalog/kserie...a6f528040800de http://k-tuned.3dcartstores.com/Swap-Packages_c_42.html http://www.hondata.com/kpro.html the last link is for the ECU/EMS you'll need, it's rather pricy 1K.

Its only 1k if your having them supply the ecu, they dropped the price down to 695 now. But if someone in your area is a dealer for the relatively new (but great) k tuner management it'd only be $450 or so if you supplied the ecu.

He's technically weak, I doubt a k-swap is even a reasonable suggestion.

The best NA option is the K Series although, as has been mentioned already, it isn't the most straight-forward swap. Personally, I would build a high comp piston/rod GSR and slap JRSC or m62 supercharger on it. Its simple, yet effective and with cams/tuning it should be around 300whp.

if you want to drain that 10K you could pay a shop to do it, forgot to say it's not straight forward you'll need lots of tools handy also.
