I got a 1990 Honda Civic Ex with a Si 2.0L engine swap from the same year. The car has been running fine and very fun. However last week, my car wouldn't start up unless I press on the Gas pedal to start it up and has been giving me the same problem ever since. I would appreciate the help and thanks.

 

Whats the engine block stamp say? The only 2.0 that came in an si civic was the ep3s with the k20.

 

Prelude had a 2.0 Si that year.

Stock engine for the Civic EX, Civic hatch Si, and CRX Si are all the same.

How is the engine idling?
When is the last time you have done a tune up?
Last time you changed the air filter?

 

My mistake its actually a JDM ZC engine. The idle is rough at start up and it idles worse at times when it is in park. I changed the oils last week and also the air filter but it keeps happening.

 

did u check the iacv? I had a issue when I did my h swap on my civic where the engine wouldnt stay running unless I put myfoot on the gas. my iacv didnt have power. ur issue is diff. the part could be dirty or sticking?
