How do they sound? On my lude I got a noise when accelerating. The noise sounds like valve lash. Like a ticking/clicking sound. I hear it more when I pass cars on the street. I know it's not my valves cause I adjusted them and they run smooth. The noise isn't there when rev it in park or neutral only when accelerating which is why it's hard to figure out what it could be. When I let go of the gas there's a noise that wasn't there before it sounds like air is escaping from somewhere which is why I think it's an exhaust leak, actually the air escaping noise is there when I rev up also. How can I check for exhaust leaks ?

 

What comes to mind for me is I could be time for new loss motion assemblies or maybe the leak is coming from your intake manifold.

When you have an exhaust leak, you will hear what you think are loud valves but it's just regular valve train noise escaping. It's normally more pronounced at the exhaust manifold gasket because of it's proximity to the valve train.

If you know how to seafoam your engine, this the best way to find an exhaust leak. I've found them on my car with ease before.

 

dropping you're exhaust is easy,an you have 360 degree access to every part. Either have a shop weld up the bits for maybe $20 bucks, or weld you're self.

JB weld doesnt work on exhausts

If you have a aluminum welding rod and a car battery you can do quick small filler welds. Welding too much this way can quickly ruin the battery. Connecting more then one together shares the load. This is only for quick tac/filler welds.
