whats a code 9 on a 90 civic w/ z6 swap?
The check engine light came on in my friends 90 civic and the ecu is giving a code 9. He has a z6 swap if that makes a diffrence? I was just taking the slack out of his throttle cable and the next time we started it the light came on. Any idea's????????????
is it a stock Civic ECU?
If it is, code 9 is = No. 1 cylinder position sensor.
If it is the OBD-I P28, it is = No. 1 cylinder position sensor. The same!
EDIT: So there is not a speck of rust on the "Hole" car, eh?

Ya pretty much, there might be a little hiding under the car but for the most part it is all gone

Lol, I think he's pointing out that you should've typed 'Whole' instead of 'Hole'. Hole meaning your car has holes in it.
Code 9... hmmmm.... what's up with all these people and these screwed up codes? It's like all of you screw up your car even worse by swapping out the motor! haha Check all of yo wiring sucka! I dunno, also check the timing first of all, it could be way off.

Here you go. The code 9 is caused by the Blue/green and Blue yellow wires in your Diz your using a Si diz correct? First try switching the pins see if that corrects it if not take a multi meter and test the resistance between the 2 wires, it should be around .300 to .450 ohms if its out of spec. you would need to replace that sensor or get a new diz. You can replace the sensors but all the bolts are tamper proof but it can be done. When you have the diz apart its the 3rd tooth one closest to the part that goes on the cam. If your running a DX diz you need that SI Diz just to let you know. This sensor usually goes bad so my guess is one or the other. Test it before you rip into the diz or spend at least 100.00 for a new one.
