Am I being ripped-off?
Hi people! Would someone please give me some guidance? I had brought my car into local Honda dealership due to a cracked engine block. It was repaired and warrantied by Honda. Right after I got it back, I noticed that the car kind of surged a bit when I was driving it. I figured this may be something that just had to work itself out due to the engine being recently worked on. I emailed the girl at the dealership and she told me that this was because I needed a new 3rd clutch pressure switch and that I only had days, maybe weeks before I damaged the tranny and would not be able to switch gears. (I have an automatic trans). I hadn't experienced this prior to bringing my car in for repairs. If I did, in fact, need a new switch, wouldn't the D light be flashing when I drove and/or some kind of warning light on my dashboard? I'm afraid to drive my car. It is my birthday weekend. Would someone please help me? I really don't know what to do. I'm far from being a mechanic but to me, this doesn't seem like it would be a tranny problem. They also told me I need an induction service, which as far as I know, would be needed if my car was misfiring, which it is not. This is why I think possibly I am being "taken for a ride". I just want to know that I am safe driving my car and that I am not causing major damage. PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE HELP ME!! Thank you and God Bless!
