A/C Compressor works like a champ, sounds like a chump. =(
I have a 95 GS-R. My a/c is cold as could be.. however whenever it's on there's a whining noise that is paralell to the revs. (Higher the revs, higher the sound). Is my compressor going bad? If so, can it be rebuilt or is it just time for a new one? I've heard a few other integras with the same problem, but only as they were driving by. Anyone else have this problem?
Forgot to say it goes away if i stay above about 3k rpm in 1st or 2nd for any length of time... (10-15 seconds)
Has been replaced twice... it's not as high pitched as a slipping belt, I don't even know how to describe it. Anyone that's had this problem will know what I'm talking about.
i have the same problem. it is a whine, it is especially loud when it is colder out. It is the clutch assembly on the ac comp that is making the noise. i have another ac comp that i plan to use the clutch assembly from, but this shop wants like 150$ to do it. i need to save the cash now....my car has been making the sound for 3yrs.
BTW - why did you have your motor rebuilt? was it the high mileage? who rebuilt it for you? was it a lot of $$$? i was recently quoted $3000 to rebuild my motor without the parts!
