How to BAR B16A/B16A2/B16A3 in civic 1992-1995
Ok im just doing a quick write up on this because i had a lot of questions as to doing this. I didnt know if it could be done, and if so under which emissions, OBD1, or OBD2...
ONE huge question i always got was WIRE TUCKING THE ENGINE
-B16A3 usdm intake manifold P30 (not jdm manifold), DEL-SOL Vtec (1994-1995)
-DEL-SOL Vtec USDM ECU *****-P30-A00 (1994-1995)
-Stock intake box and pipe (I purchased the jdm EG6 ($60) and pssed just fine)
-OBD1 Distributor
-OBD1 Fuel injectors
-Exhaust manifold (integra LS,GS,GSR will work) as long as O2 sensor is at the end on the exhaust manifold. (99-00 si will NOT work)
-B16A2 Fuel Rail will work as well (same as OBD1)
-All vaccume lines and sensors must be working.
-Crank Timing AND Ignition Timing must be correct BTDC 16 +/-2 so between 14-18 DEGREES
-You must also have a CA Legal catalytic converter (carb emission numbers)
-YES your CHECK ENGINE light must work properly as well.
The BAR/REFF appointment takes about 1hr 40min, they do full visual inspection them SMOG the vehicle.
BTW if you fail the BAR/REFF you will not be able to smog "DIRTY" elsewhere because it is strictly noted in the system "do not issue smog certificate, refer back to BAR/REFF"

Ive also attached another picture of someone else who has REFFED a B16A2 as OBD1 (white Sticker)

YES!! YOU CAN HAVE YOUR ENGINE WIRE TUCKED AND SHAVED AS LONG AS ALL EMISSION CONTROLS ARE IN PLACE AND WORKING PROPERLY.
I have a B16A2 and 50% of the people i asked told me i couldnt BAR/STATE REFF if as OBD1.....They were wrong, very wrong..

Let me guess, you must not live in Los Angeles then! Because last time I checked, no Ref in Los Angeles were passing modded Hondas... NO MATTER WHAT!
I remember when I was trying to get my car passed, they kept BSing me. Every time I came, they told me it was something else different I had to get in order to pass. One Ref even told me I needed antilock brakes because the original engine came with antilock brakes! WTF does that have to do with emissions???!!!
Eventually a Ref pulled me aside and said his boss in Sacramento gave the order to not BAR anymore Civics, no matter what!
