Default 2014 Accord Hybrid Battery Gauge

I have owned a 2014 Accord Hybrid Touring model for a few days. I have put about 200 miles, 150 highway, 50 city. The hybrid battery gauge never gets to
all eight bars. The most I get is 6 bars.I can't imagine this is normal. Anyone out there with a 2014 Accord Hybrid, can you tell me what your gauge does?
I also don't see more than 40 MPG, which may or may not be related to the Hybrid battery being at 75% maximum?
Thanks for your help.
Dave

It is normal. To get it to 100% at the dealer we have to rev it to 3K in park to charge it completely. Normal driving it always fluctuates in the middle ranges.
In town driving, ac off and eco on I saw close to 35 (have a lot of hills here which can kill mile average quickly) but one of the other techs said he got it to 52 on the highway.

I dont have an Accord Hybrid but keep in mind that its constantly using battery power, so it never going to get to full battery power unless the car isnt moving.
As for the milage, give it some time. That engine needs some time to break in before you are going to see 50 mpg. Talk to me when it has 10,000 miles on it and still isnt getting 50 mpg.
