accord - third battery in less than 3 years
I just had to replace the battery in my '03 accord for the second time since april '08. and, i think the one that died on me in '08 was not the original. I was living in Florida from '05 through this summer. They told me there was something about the heat that made batteries die sooner. But, moved up north in July . . . .
any thoughts on why i'm going thru batteries so fast?? I don't leave the lights on or run the radio/electric without the engine on.

What brand of battery? Are you getting free replacement on them? Maybe your car is draining the battery (any electrical accessories added?), or your alternator is not charging it. You might want to go to Autozone, and have the charging system tested.

april '08 and one since then (don't remember exactly when but probably within the last year) were replaced by a Honda dealer. the last one was free since it was under warranty. I haven't had a problem on the latest until this morning. took a couple of tries to get it started and took it straight in to a service station . . . that's what i usually do at the first sign of any issues.
i don't think i have any electrical accessories added that would drain the battery. leave my phone charger plugged in, but i think it cuts off. would that do it?
I've moved and don't live near a dealer, so took it to my local service station. he's replacing the battery, checked the alternator and I asked that he check the interior lights and anything else. but, i'm not a car person so don't really know what else to ask him to do.
