hey everyone.

I recently bought a 2008 Civic DX Sedan used, and since the start of the winter I have had problems with the locks.

driver side the lock switch will only move position, If I am pulling on the door lever, this is occurs even when the door is shut (i know when its open its a security feature, so i don't lock keys in car)

also around the same time, the key hole on my driver side as well, will not unlock my door.

it is really ridged and stiff when trying to insert the key. I WD40'd the key and slid it into the key hole now, it slids in and out easier. but the key only turns one way. it only turns the lock way.

so I am unable to unlock the car from the outside driver side.

does anyone have a guess on how I could fix this?

 

Remove the inner door panel and see if the bars that lead from the lock to lock handle and the lock to latch aren't binding. If no binding then replace the lock assembly.
