Hi guys, Yesterday my car start to misfire in cylinder one, first put a new plug, still the same(the other was black), Measure the wire 6.58@ 20kohm's, this looks fine so I replace the coil and nothing. The cap and rotor are brand new OEM one month.

The distributor is new but it's a eBay king special. If I put the plug like half inch from the valve cover bolt the spark is completely orange.

A bad ICM can cause poor spark and affect more the most far plug?

 

NGK, properly gapped?

What the reading @ 20 Ohms? How old are the plug wires? If old or non-OEM, then just replace them.

Have you compression tested the cylinders?

The wires NGK he64 Two years, My voltmeter after 20k only have 2000 and 200.

Compression tested fine 195psi (9.0:1). In my tester this engine always be in the 195-200 range since day one.

forgot to mention the misfire randomly disappear and idle fine for a few seconds then misfire again.

 

maybe try wiggling the injector plug for that cylinder? my car was misfiring and and that worked i guess it wasn't making good contact

 

Another potential source of the problem.

 

Tried this and the majority of time the engine shakes and die.

 

I have the used OEM I take off , tomorrow I try to swap it again.

 

ok, so I went out and swap the distributor the car still do the same, but when I attach the timing light to set the distributor. I realize that the rpm's in the gun at idle come and goes, if a rev the car a little the rpm's read solid.

This is a bad wire or braking in the distributor?
