car will not crank over
89 crx si, b20 with b16 cable trans
i was just driving my car yesterday and today when i turn the key it wont start. it starts making a bunch of clicking noises from under my dash. my battery is good(its a week old), all lights come on and i can listen to the radio. i thought it was the main relay so i got a brand new one and that didnt work.
the starter does not make a sound when i turn the key. i took my starter to oreillys and had it tested and it was good. it kicked out and spun just fine when they hooked it up. i am getting 9v to the round connector on the starter with the key in off position. when i turn the key to start the car, i am getting 9v to the little square spade connector on the starter. when i jump the little square spade connector directly to my battery the starter starts clicking but will not start the car

Are your power and ground cables all good?
Try taking a jumper cable and only hooking up to the NEG (-) on the battery and clamp the other end onto the starter housing.
Just to help prove out and ground cable issues.

it made no change. when i turn the key to start, it starts making a crazy clicking sound inside the car but the starter will not make a noise. when i jump the starter directly to the battery, it starts clicking but wont start the car
edit: just tried to jump start the car and it made no change

correction: im getting 11.62 volts to the starter on the round connector on the starter with key in off position. when i test voltage on the battery with my multimeter im getting 11.62 v
just went and got my battery tested and he said the voltage was low and that it had barely any amps. they are going to charge it at autozone and i can pick it up in 2 hours. so if the battery is my problem that makes 2 batteries in 2 weeks that my car has killed.
Time to check your power, grounds, and alternator if you are killing batteries.
Well, unless you have some amped up car radio. That would eat batteries really fast.

brought the battery back home and my car started right up. obviously i am having some parasitic draw from somewhere. i dont have a big stereo, just a head unit and door speakers.
with the car running, i measured the voltage on the battery and its 14.36

alternator is working fine . might be a bad battery or a parasitic draw , you can take a multimeter and connect it to the ground of the battery and ground of the car , and see what it looks like
