Etest question
I've been searching for a bit and either I'm not looking in the right places or I'm not searching the right things, anyways, can anyone tell me if I can pass the new obd etest with an obd2a ecu in an obd2b car? Or does obd2b car need to be obd2b ecu?
What I remember reading in the past is that an OBD2A ECU in an OBD2B car will have a non-functioning OBD plug, which, in a number of places, is an instant fail. You haven't given us ANY location information, though, so we can't tell you.
Call your local testing station and ask them.

Can't do what, run an OBD2A ECU in an OBD2B car? Yes, actually, you can.

Sorry posting from Ontario, near Toronto, and I just bought a new civic and it's just got a y7 and was considering doing an ls swap in my 99 but wasn't sure if I could still pass an etest with obd2a
Something about "hot rod" status changes your emissions requirements in ON, if you've done an engine swap. Not in Ontario anymore, so don't ask me specifics. Noped outta that province.
Thanks deschlong went to rust check today and they told me 99 is the last year that qualifies for hot rod, just have to go to honda and fill out some paperwork then call drive clean and get it unlocked so it's just a pipe test, that's what's up, thanks man.
