1990 Crx si motor swap to 89 DX motor
Just wrecked my 1989 CRX DX. Damage wasn't too major, but the body has a lot of issues from previous owner. I have been looking around for parts and stumbled across a 1990 CRX Si Shell. I wanted to know what would be needed to put my DX's motor in to the Si. The motor is still running strong.
The easy answer: The DX motor and whatever it needs to run, some time, some sweat, extra hands, etc.
The not so easy answer: Depends on what's included on the new shell. Basically what's not there, you take from your damaged car. Then there's just a bit of wiring differences depending on if the Si shell still has the wiring harness intact or not AND if you want to use it or not.

Thanks for the quick response. The Si shell does not have its wiring harness. The time, sweat etc isn't a problem. Would I need to modify the existing harness in any way? and would I just have to swap over the the motor and harness or would I have to swap anything else as well. Never done a motor swap before so don't really know too much about it and the only things I can find in the forums and from google are Si upgrades and dropping a Si motor into a DX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You'd be correct. Second post nailed it. Find what is missing and swap it over.
The ECU should be swapped with the harness. That dx will have dpfi, but you could always swap Mpfi over and rape your harness.
