i was having issues with it knocking at low rpm/high load, basically cruising, so decided to do a street tune on it to try and sort that out. pulled this one out of cylinder 3 today. the rest looked similar, but with the tips intact. these are denso iridium ik22. replaced them with ik24's.
quick build break down:
k20/k24
svm 212 cams
wiseco 87.5mm 12.5:1
pump 91

Blurry pic.
Get new plugs, allow car to warm up, and go make a pull.
shut the car off before redline, few hundred rpms. Take a top pic, side pic and a pic of the strap.
For Cruising, you can run as lean as you want, as long as it doesn't break up or pose any type of accelerating issue. I tend to run most cars around 14.8-15.5 for cruising afr, make sure the timing is fairly advanced in light load areas, if its too low, it will buck or break up sometimes, same with it being too much.. typically 37-43 degrees seems to be the norm for partial throttling.. I can post a few maps if you'd like.

The cams are different. I just did a z3 head a few weeks back on a a2 block. I ran mostly 20 degrees VTC for cruising, 10-20 should be fine.
timing being easy, could be a issue, if you have little timing, a lot of fuel, its going to cause some issues. That plug looks f'n terrible, put a new set in and redo.

new set of plugs after some easy driving and hard pulls

didn't realize #3 came out so blurry, but it looks like the other ones. it does idle smoother with these new plugs. did some more street tuning today, and knock has gone way down. still some there, but we're making progress.
