Default Car veered left at high speed.

I was dicking around in my '97 H22a HB, and when the speedometer was at about 6 o clock, the car suddenly veered hard to the left, almost taking me off the road. I could feel a strong vibration through the steering wheel. I had to fight the car to keep it straight, I managed to slow down and make it to the shoulder. The pull was so sudden and violent I thought I had completely lost a tire, but all appeared normal from the outside. I proceeded back down the highway and there was no issue.... strange. All I can think is an axle got bound up, and freed itself when I hit the rumble strip before the shoulder.

Has this ever happened to anyone? Wtf caused it?

check for play in the tierods/ball joints, have never known a driveshaft to get "bound up".

I thought it was common on H22a swapped vehicles.

I would feel play in tie rods in the steering, and I feel nothing. The car pulls straight now, just as it did before. That said, I'm going to put it up in the air to check things out at the next opportunity.

My dog and my girl as a witness.

Note, I said "about 6 o clock". You don't think a tuned JDM red top H22a is capable? It may take a while, but it gets there.

Oh, and my speedometer is off. I bet we were actually doing between 130 and 135.

I'm not saying **** off because I don't believe you, I'm saying **** off because you were driving that fast, and the fact that you were "dicking around" makes it a safe bet you were out on the highway doing your dumb ****.

****. Off.

Nice to meet you, Mr. Hypocrite. As if you haven't had a little fun on an open highway before?

Thanks for contributing **** all! Run along....

You have no idea what I've been involved in, but I've grown up and stopped acting like a child, because I have consideration for other people's lives and property. Translation: I'm not a raging piece of ****. Go suck a fat bag of dicks, and get the **** out of here with your street racing bullshit. I hope you wrap your car around a tree. Maybe you'l feel different when you see what a blowout at 175 on the highway does.

Grow up, shut up, and suck it up.

Hardly bragging.

Thanks for the input.

I took a look under the car and noticed both inner cv boots are torn. Wouldn't it make more sense if it was the outer joint? Or would either one ceasing cause it?

Thank you! That's what I was looking for.

Imagine that happening when you're moving at a considerable pace. It was a miracle I kept it on the road.

Torque steer ? if you're talking about 1-3rd gear yah I get that too then.

No, this is entirely different. Torque steer is predictable and manageable, this was neither.

Even third? I know you've got a nice teg, but who are we kidding here, even a B series with some moderate modifications isn't making enough torque to torque steer in THIRD gear, maybe second.

That escalated quickly...

Check your ball joints and tie rods. Make sure everything is tight (and still attached). Also, a word to the wise, don't do stupid **** like what you've admitted to above. NotARacist is right for calling you out on it...grow up and quit driving like a reckless idiot.
