Default New here and need some help with my y8 block z6 head swap

well I started this project a month ago with little prior knowledge of cars, but with the help of some friends who rebuild old muscle cars.
I have a 1999 Honda Civic EX with a d16y8 engine and b4ra auto transmission.

So, it started with the vtec solenoid on the y8 head, the bolts broke off into it and I had it held together with a hose clamp for a very long time.
Finally a friend comes to me with a z6 head, cam shaft, vtec solenoid, fuel rail, some random intake with holes in it and nothing more.
I put it off for a long long time and finally got around to rebuilding my first head!

I actually went overboard and borrowed a friends engine lift and completely rebuilt my auto tranny (2nd one I put on the car, first one clicked real bad.. come to find the casing was broken on the inside), cleaned the y8 block off completely and painted both. not pro looking, but way better than before.

anyways. I'm using everything originally from my y8 block, just with the z6 head.
I ordered an adjustable cam gear off of ebay from a random seller to find it was for a h series or k series. So I'm using the y8 cam gear, and rocker arms in the z6 head with the z6 camshaft. I rotated it the 4.5 degrees so tdc matched on the distributor side so it would fire off at cylinder 1.

I am aware that my y8 dizzy will not bolt on, but I today got a z6 dizzy in the mail from ebay, and swapped the internals completely so that I could use my y8 harness (Not sure if it was a no no or what) but so far, no start.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong. Everything is plugged in, there is oil, tranny fluid, coolant, fuel, and electricity but no start. Any advice would be appreciated. I used the search function to my best abilities and am hoping for the best here.

Why didn't you use the z6 cam gear?

I went and rechecked my tdc and I have my cam gear 1 tooth past tdc for the 4.5 and still no start. Any advice would be appreciated, we really need the car back on the road pronto.

If you have spark and fuel it has to be timing. What color is your spark? Any check engine codes?
Get the correct cam gear for the Z6 as well.

I gave up, I didn't have the right ecu anyways, so I'm putting the y8 head back on which ultimately looked cleaner when I pulled it off than the z6 did when I cleaned and painted it.
Still gonna use the z6 cam cause the y8 one looked ****.
only problem so far is my valve cover bolt ripped some threads out, I'm missing my vtec solenoid gasket, and I can't find where this wire is supposed to be bolted to that comes off of my thermostat switch assembly. pretty lost on where it goes.
