LS/GSR HYBRID TRANNY
SO i have a 99 integra that im building an ls vtec motor for and i dont want to use a gsr transmission cz of money and 5th being so short, i want to take the ls trans i have and put gsr 2 and 3 gears in it along with a lsd diff, anyone have any advice on witch gears to swap, where to get them and any tricks on doing the work, im no trans guy but i have done a few manual and auto rebuilds before so i know i can handle it but any advice from one of you true Honda guys would be great!
GSR and LS 1st and 2nd are the same only 3-5 are different. So all you need from the GSR is 3rd and 4th, but, why not go with B16 3rd and 4th? They would be even better than the GSR and you will still have your LS 5th for cruising.
On where to get them: Im sure you could get them new from the dealer, but your best bet would be ebay or on the HT marketplace. Same for the diff. Also, keep the LS 4.266 Final Drive ratio.

ok great. ever heard of the phantom grip lsd conversion? junk? im not going to be racing the car every day and im trying build my trans on a budget, but at the same time i dont want to put any junk in the trans either.....
Yes, it is junk. Get a proper LSD, MFactory or Quaife.
GSR and LS 1/2 are the same, GSR uses a dual cone synchro for 2nd, LS uses a single cone. I would use a B16 3/4/5. Using the LS 5th will likely hurt your fuel economy.
