Default Aluminum threads on H2b plate

Has anyone had issues with the aluminum threads on their H2b adapter plate? Thread engagement is only .625" or so, should have a steel thread insert IMO.

my plate is steel but i would agree that thread inserts would be ideal. with thread ingagement less than 75% i would worry about damage even with use of a torque wrench (to avoid over tightening).

evo kit uses a steel plate. and you can utilize 100% of thread depth by using your own bolts cut to length if need be. that's what I did for peace of mind.

Is it possible to timesert the adapter plate you have? Not ideal but better than buying a new plate and just as strong.

I've never had the problem since we use Evolution Industries H2b kits with the steel adapter plate.
I was wondering if people were having problems with the aluminum plates from the other kit.... KAIZENSPEED may be creating our own unique H2b kit.

What alloy are "they" using?

If it isn't a 7000 series, I would pass

I have never heard of the issue before. this would actually be the first I have heard of it. Like randy said a longer bolt cut to your expectations would be better.

I'll be putting mine together in the next few weeks, using the aluminum plate. I'll post results weather it goes well or the threads blow out.

the 2 top threads on my plate blew out.........so now I'm stuck buying a new plate, if reid@kaizenspeed makes one stronger I would be very interested in buying one asap....Seth from QSD is a great guy but so difficult to get a hold of sometimes. I sent him a email in regards to me just purchasing the plate an took almost 2 and a half weeks to reply back......
