Icon2 6 Speed Tranny with LSD... Racing Headers and RBC Intake Manifold... Or K Pro?

My EP3's pretty stock:

Megan Racing Exhaust
K&N Typhoon Short Ram we're converting to cold air
Stillen Velocity Stack with K&N Air Filter

We're about to put in new coilovers (Let me know if you're selling any lightly used ones between now and February), camber kit and Progress Anti Roll Bar and ended up with a little extra spending money...

I have about a $1,400 spending budget and want to get the following upgrades but don't really know what to get first while staying within that range... Any input, thoughts, suggestions, and opinions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

6 Speed Tranny w/LSD ($500) <-- After selling my stock 5 speed
Short Shifter ($150)
K Pro ($1200)
RBC Intake Manifold ($100)
K20 Krusher Header ($450)
Innovative Mounts ($150)

Let me know if you'd go a completely different route. I was also looking into:

Upgraded fuel rail and fuel pump
Power steering and transmission cooling kit
Ported header and or intake manifold

Not to thread jack but if you want a Buddy Club short shifter around that price I have one still brand new in the box that I would consider getting rid of. PM me if you're interested.

If I were you, I'd just get the K-Pro though so that you can actually utilize the parts that you've already spent money to buy. Throwing more parts on without tuning isn't really doing you any good.

If you are planning on upgrading performance I would look into Kpro for sure first and foremost. LSD is also a GREAT upgrade for FWD in any race application

KPRO is no longer $1200, it's $700

but yes, the new tranny would change things up a lot if that were my 1st choice

Jakester I might take you up on that offer if you still have the short shifter. Let me know

Thanks for the info guys!!! That's more what we were leaning towards. Deetz, I was counting on getting a good tune. Not sure if that would be worth the extra $500...?

And we were looking at the K20z3 transmission. Would anyone say there is a better option?

Also, I read that in order to do the swap you have you have to bore out the vss plug but I was told it is better to splice it in. Any input?

I would go with a different engine, but if you're happy with the A3, swapping transmissions would definitely be one of the best options to help with acceleration. Good luck on everything!

I have an 01-05 ITR K20 trans. 6spd with LSD. I want an ep3 trans. Consider trade with cash on top?

A night and day difference!

Power Steering cooler?!?!? And I don't think a tranny cooler will do any real benefit at your performance level. If you can afford $200-300 more bucks i'd go for vtec killer setup.

Why do you want to go from LSD 6 speed to a 5 speed non-lsd?

I'd say go with KPRO for sure, and get headers and a cold air intake and enjoy it like that. 6 Speed would be useless with the k20a3, maybe if you had a different engine.

What about the k tuner ecu? Does anyone have any good reviews about this product? Think it's from Neptune and should be cheaper than the k pro.

Ktuner is still relatively new and doesn't quite have the tuner base that Hondata has.

If ktuner is from the guy that did Neptune it should keep getting better and better just like Neptune. Plus I've always found their support to be great.

I need the 5 speed gearing, and I would put an LSD in it.
6speed is too short of gearing for my setup

If those were my choices i'd do the header first, then LSD and wait, where can you get an rsx-s 6sp for $500, is there a 1 missing, short shifter for shorter back n forth motion, stay away for the side to side, Kpro and then RBC. You have to do the RBC last since it'll add to much air into the engine and you have no way to correct it. No need for mounts in your power level unless you want the car to tremble. Fuel rail is only for looks and why a diff pump when you'll have to bump it down to oem levels. If it's not broke don't fix it. I live in the south, it doesn't get any hotter than here, leave the PS and trans alone. Depending where you live i'd do some kind of intake too. Enjoy.

Sorry missed the first part, your in CA my home town. Put an Injen CAI on it, i think they're Carb, if not an AEM is for sure. Also give the Pulstar plugs a try, i've had great luck with them but beware they are a little more fragile than the rest.
