Ok I recently got a new project car, its a 1995 delsol si with a b18b1 swap, Its doing the idle surging like the iacv is bad. that's not a big deal I can fix it or clean it. however when I unplug the iacv the car idles just like it should, right around 750rpm. My question is, will it be ok to drive it around with the iacv unplugged until I get a chance to clean it, check for leaks, clean fitv, basically is it ok to drive it unplugged for a few days while I narrow down the idle surging issue.

 

You can drive it without the iacv hooked up but it will not rev past 3k without hitting the gas pretty hard

 

that's one thing that is kind of worrying me. the car seems to run fine, I was under the impression that if the iacv is unplugged the car should shutoff and not idle.
Im wondering If maybe previous owner played with the idle adjustment and the car is idleing to high, causing the iacv to trip out and do the surging. that would explain why it doesn't die when iacv is unplugged
