itr clone thoughts and rambles
Well i have decided to sell one of my crxs to close friend to fund a new project. I recently was privileged to drive a real usdm type r, setup for circuit racing. to my luck he had a rolled usdm type r in a barn so I went ahead and purchased the 5 lug hubs, sway bar coilovers pretty much all I could get off of it all in really nice shape.. so anyways to fill the void my crx si will be leaving. im on the market for a 97-01 integra coupe even though it will most likly be sporting a sunroof. Rs models seem to be non exsistant in wisconsin. So heres the game plan looking for any input on choosing parts and anything I will be missing.
Itr front and rear lips kinda worried about fitment with knock offs tho
Itr wing
Shaved side moldings
Are head lights different from type r to gsr models
Side skirts????
Taillights??
Badges ya I said it badges these car are not a theft problem where I live.
I know it will never be a true r becouse of the frame reinforcements and such goodies..
As far as engine is concerned it will be b18c until I can put a k20 in and use the b18c for my crx but bolt ons will be in order.
And has anyone ever heard of sunroof delet plates to weld in..
Oh and championship white will be color of choice

I hope this doesn't mean that you are going to put ITR stickers on a non-ITR. I can understand why you want to use ITR parts, but I can't understand why people slap ITR badges on a non-ITR. But at the end of the day it will be your car so do whatever you like. As far as your questions though.... get a OEM ITR front lip, the OEM rear valance will be hard to find and expensive. ITR wings are available almost anywhere and you can have your door moldings shaved. All 94-97 headlights are the same and all 98-01 headlights are the same. All 94-01 2door taillights fit the same, but different in color between 94-97 and 98-01. There is a ton of info about all the questions you have on here and other sites. Just search it. Good luck with your search/build.

Instead of buying real ITR stickers, and since it wont be a real ITR, heres an idea.
Take the actual image/template/graphic of the sticker and modify it is say "Integra Type RS"
Here... made a little example for ya...

ITR clone without an ITR chassis. I cloned a gorilla once. Meaning I pasted hair all over myself and ate a banana. Got some badges too. Gorilla clone.

So sick of people who fake the funk. It's like the same ******** who wear dress blues or ACU's when they're not enlisted. There should be a stolen valor law. ITRs are not that expensive anymore, maybe a little more than you'd spend buying all R parts for your non R chassis. It'd probably be cheaper to buy an actual R then if you actually plan on buying every little Type-R part for a non R. At the end of the day, an Integra LS, is still an LS.
No matter how much maple syrup you put on a piece of ****, it's still a piece of ****.

lol..
So did we all. But I'm sure we didn't try to wear something to convince the public that we belong to a certain branch. I see idiots wearing ribbons, medals, battalion patches, ect, then they wear timb boots and the wrong color green shirt under the ACU. You can just tell they're a poser ****.
Why not just make it your own instead of making a clone?
Most clones just copy the exterior (down to champ white) and interior I've noticed a few "clones" on craigslist and a lot don't even use any of the useful performance parts like a rear sway bar, etc
I can understand buying the front lip and wing, and also buying other parts such as ITR mechanical bits to replace worn bits on a lower trim model for routine maintenance, but I wouldn't badge it as one.

I see so many CGP or VSM integras with "type R" written on em. Not sure who they're trying to fool....
-ITR enthusiasts can tell its fake
-Non enthusiasts don't care
That really only leaves one's self as the fool.
Same as people putting TE37 stickers on their Rota grids.

Si "clones" are just as annoying. Some dude on CL claimed he was selling his Si clone. It was literally an EX with Si wheels....and he was keeping the wheels. Wtf?
I am completely fine with people doing clones. A good clone is still a good looking car. What I do have a problem with is people trying to pass them off as the real deal.
