Default Just sharing some pics of my head gasket job 1999 CR-V

So since adjusting my valves i noticed it was blowing smoke at idle i decided to replace the valve seals so i removed the head and sent it out to the machine shop to get cleaned and had them replace the valve stem seals , i spent around $300 total including labor ( i did the work ) , new head gasket, re used head bolts, new valve cover gasket, new intake manifold gasket, machine shop work and new coolant .

Overall i would say IF you are experienced with engines and these motors it is a 6/10 in difficulty , it was a straight forward job and the machine shop said the exhaust valves and seats were fine ( i asked because our B20 motors have the infamous exhaust valve seat problem ) .

So i put it all back together and have been driving even since .

it isn't difficult at all just a lot of tiny things that need to be removed and remembered .

very nice right up, been there that seven years ago. I don't recall, but I was way under $300 bones. I torch down the head back and keepers on exhaust cylinder #3 came apart and heard the valve making that ping noise when it fell loose from the head and hit the top of the piston. I had to take it off and compressed the spring to a assemble the da valve back on, did it right on my dinning table. That was fun. The job is what it is, I was broke and had no choice to do myself, as for other, if you confident with ur wrench ability us should by all means dear yourself and push yourself. I did.
I need to send u a PM, let me know what you think on a related issues.
Thanks
