Default No start help please!

Hey got a 01 integra type r. Went to get carwash today. Car ran fine before i got there, then turned off my car, tried to turn it on and no start. Its winter time here btw and we had some freezing temp. if that helps any.

Here is what i do know:
Fuel pump primes / main relay clicks
Spark at the spark plug wires
Started cranks the motor
No check engine lights what so ever.
Car battery has 12.4 volts

SHould 12.4 volts be good enough? it is a new battery to, it is 12.4 probably because i tried cranking it so much

i know 12.6 is suppose to be fully charged without the, car on or alternator running

So any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated!!

THanks~~~~

  • Any mods?
  • Is your check engine light on? If so what's the error code(s)?
  • Try pulling your spark plugs and inspect them. What color are they? Do they smell like fuel?

No mods

No CEL or MIL light

I will pull plugs tomorrow~

Notes**:

1. I hear the main relay click on and off/ hear the fuel pump prime ( unless i am hearing things)
2. There is spark at the spark plug wires, i checked this
3. The motor is cranking, unless the starter is something fuc**d with it like the solenoid?, but i dont think that is the issue.
4. The battery is new, after i replaced it, it started right up, then i went out today and turned it off and it never started again. Now the battery has 12.39 volts, i checked with voltmeter ( because i tried to crank it so many times lol)

Idk do you think i burned out the starter or something???

Any help thanks guys!

Did you remove the ECU before/after/during battery installation?

If you're SURE you are getting spark at the end of the plugs then all dizzy components are working.

Did you try pop starting it?

....wait.... Why did you need to replace your battery in the first place?

Well i didnt change the plugs yet, but i am trying to find out other reasons. Because even with the bad spark plug it should still turn on. I am going to check my timing tomorrow.

So to check the timing, do i have to remove the timing belt covers, and turn the motor with a ratchet. Where are these timing marks for the b18c5, is it on the block or on the timing belt cover??

Thanks~

Sounds like your timing belt may have snapped. Especially if you have a cracked spark plug. Although if you are sure your'e getting spark then it means the distributor is turning which means the cam belt is intact.

Sit with the throttle body open...ie foot at wide open throttle for a few min to allow the fuel in the cumbustion chamber to evaporate. Then try it again and see if it will start. If it stiill will not start, then check to make sure you have not jumped a tooth or something on the timing belt.

To verify timing belt you need to turn the crank bully counter clockwise until the red mark is lined up with the line on the timing belt cover. Keep rotating with the valve cover off until you can see the cam gears both have the "up" at the top and the lines on the insides alligned. Wtiht thesse alligned you should see the red mark on the pulley line up with the timing cover mark.

So your car is 100% bone stock? How many miles on it? What's the last item that you serviced on it?
