Default Charge Inlet Temps with closed front ends

Looking into maybe closing my front end off for the 2014 season

But how is anyone finding it in regards to charge temps , water temps in the fire up road, on a run at the top end and after?

Have you seen a major rise in charge temps from open to closed front ends?

I don't have a closed front end but I would imagine if not on alcohol would get pretty hot with no airflow coolant wise unless making a pass on a cold motor. You could duct some air to the radiator and close up the front end. If towing through the lanes and shutting down right after the run you would prob be ok as well. I'm sure people will chime in that are actually running closed fronts.

I'll share....

Car is on ethanol with a 7285 and a 950hp garret core. Radiator is a 10x10x3 radiator. Used a IC core for that as well. No issues here.

Thanks for sharing that, so it goes up roughly 20c over a pass?

my 26"civic at the end was on ethanol, air/air intercooler and no radiator, just a pot. 100% closed off front end. It went 8.00 just like this, drove to the lanes and drove back to the pit with 0 issues.

Depends on the class your running. I think sfwd cars have to show at least 50% of Intercooler. If your not in any class and its just for ur own gain then its a plus.

you are right, the rule is for OGS SFWD events ONLY! (honda day, and the big 3)

Any other class is ok IFO =FWD and Also MIR = Super Street and any dragmania event you can use a closed front end!
