1990 honda accord ex 2.2L f22a4 bad ecm??
my honda accord has been acting up it starts like **** like it was running super super rich. smoke looks blue but smells a lot like gas. the things i did BEFORE it started acting like this. spark plugs. igniter. fuel filter. air filter. oil change. oil filter. ngk wires. now i didn't gap my plugs it felt like a misfire while giving it gas sometimes it would act like it was flooded after turning it off it wouldn't start back up until i let settle for about 10 seconds then it will start with the gas pedal to the floor. sometimes it turns off while reversing, i took out my plugs no black soot on them or oil burning related soot, i did gap them they were off, after gaping i felt SOME power back, while im cruising on freeway my rpm's fluctuate you can barely notice it, it has ALL THE SYMPTOMS of a bad tps, now no check engine light, i did unplug the tps after doing the tune up just to clean the plug because it had dirt inside the plug, i used a nylon brush to clean it out, i pulled my passenger carpet and turned the key to the III position and behold i get code 17 and 7 speed sensor and tps. i reset the ecu taking the negative cable off and taking out the ecu fuse under the hood. left it overnight put everything back on turned the car on turned it off after 3 seconds did the same thing with the ecu and same codes 17 and 7, the ecu was clear before turning the car on, like i said no check engine light. could this be a bad ecm????? i look up tps symptoms and i have all of them!!! i checked the middle wire and i get the honda spec voltages at closed and open throttle.don't want to poke the other two wires don't know if they are ground or what. i wan't to check them tho make sure the ecm is communicating with the tps
You can get the Honda spec voltages 0.5v @ closed throttle and 4.5v @ wide open throttle and the TPS could still be bad. You have to check to make sure that the voltage goes up smoothly while you open the throttle. If the voltages sticks or bounces the TPS is bad and should be replaced. You also have to check that the ECU is seeing the same voltage as you are getting at the sensor. There could be an issue with the wires between the ECU and TP sensor.
The two other wires are
YEL/WHT = 5v reference
GRN/WHT = Ground
The two other wires are
