So my passenger light is out completely. I purchased hids and installed them. First time it rained about a month ago moisture got inside the light assembly and bulb went out a day and worked the following day after it dried out. 2nd time it rained same thing happened but now light is out completely. Tried putting original bulbs back in and same issue. Been driving around with one light about 3-4 weeks now. Hoping it could be a fuse..?? No clue what fuse it would be either because my fuse box inside the car is missing the lid with the map. So any help would be appreciated.

 

Get a multimeter and check for power and ground at the connector.

 

You can get one at harbor freight for 5$

 

if its completely out then most likely a fuse. Your best bet would be to search for the fuse box layout.

If the fuse is good then try using a multi-meter to check the voltage - low or none. If no voltage check relays

IF your HID kit was like mine, it came with inline fuses (IIRC). Trace the circuit wires from the back of the headlight assembly, to the ballast, and then to it's connection to the incoming (to the HID setup) power delivery wires. I THINK you may find an inline fuse.

Yes, go to someplace like Harbor Freight (or Northern Tool, Lowe's, etc.) & get a multi-meter. I like the digital ones because there's no guessing if the needle is closer to this line or that line. You should be able to pick up a simple little digital multi-meter (DMM) from HF for under $20 + a 9v transistor battery. When you have this, you should be able to test voltage going to your ballast, and from the ballast to the headlamp. This should help you isolate the missing electricity.
