Default Clutch issue

Hey guys i ave a 01 itr and its all stock. im having issues with my clutch pedal. its fine untill i rip on on and after i take it to redline in a gear the pedal gets alot stiffer than normal. the clutch grabs great and doesnt slip so im kind of confused on what the issue is. like i said it only does it after i rip on it to redline. then is back to normal after a min or so. fluid is good and bled and cmc looks like it has no leaks and also greased up the slave where the ball meets the fork.

My GSR had a simular issue and it turned out to be the pressure plate. It had a loose spring it, swapped it out and problem solved. Hope that helps.

I've held my ITR and GSR flywheels in either hand at the same time. The ITR's "might" be a couple of lbs lighter but not by much. There's less metal to the outer edge of the ITR's than the GSR's.

I've always enjoyed the snappy quick revving you get from the 7.5 lbs flywheels, just a personal preference.

on a boosted car id never have one personally..

i had a friend that had an ek coupe with a jdm itr in it that had a fidanza 7 lb flywheel & stage 3 act clutch...it didnt feel like there was an engagement zone, just a point. which makes the clutch pedal more of an exaggerated on/off switch...you were either moving or not, and if you were moving the tires were spinning..lol..

There's a pretty good difference between gsr and itr flywheels. Maybe you were holding the GSR one with your dominant hand lol.

I don't like overly light flywheels for street applications. Might not be too bad with the OEM pedal pressure...for a street clutch, I guess.

The only time I liked a super light assembly was with my hyper single on the track. All the components worked well together. Otherwise, I've never really liked them.

For me, the stock ITR flywheel or maybe a slightly lighter one works best. I like clutches that engage high and have light pedals. So...light flywheels annoy me.

More than likely the pressure plate has started to fail.

The Fidanza 7.5lb is a great choice, I use it in my D16 with an Action 1MD clutch.

Nah, I actually swapped from one hand to the other for that very reason.

If I got back N/A that's what I'll be buying. I see no need for super strong clutches if you're not making big boost power.
