97 Civic - Passenger front blinker problems!
How's it going all.
Problem: passenger front blinker has stopped working. When I hit the lever the flasher blinks fast indicating a bulb has gone bad. I checked the rear and it is blinking but fast. The front does not blink at all however, it does illuminate with the running lights. I changed the bulb thinking that was the problem but still no blinker up front.
Driver side works fine FYI
Any help with this would be great.

Make sure a filament isn't burnt out on the bulb and that the ground wire in the engine bay isn't loose or anything.
Also take the bulb out and take a look at the metal tabs on the inside. There should be some on the side and bottom i believe. Make sure that they aren't flattened out to the point of no contact. If they are simply get a small screwdriver or paperclip and carefully pull them out back into position where they can make contact.
If the socket is all and well bust out the multimeter and start finding out where the power is lost or where the ground is lost.

Lol at the blinker fluid. We'll I'm running the chase bay's body harness so it's all in the fender. I pulled the fender and checked the wires and all seemed well. I guess tomorrow I'll tear it all down again and recheck the actual socket this time.
Off topic but maybe someone can conform what I think. On the multi switch for the headlights. The blinkers will intermittently not work, but if I click them on and like wiggle the lever or put pressure on it they work.
This sound like a bad multi switch?

I'll take some pictures for you guys tomorrow, maybe they'll help you help me.
I prolly sound like some incompetent guy that knows nothing. (Just a weird problem)

Also triple check that you installed the correct bulb type.

Alright I fought back the old of my garage (cranked) up the heater.
I tried a few different things before I broke out the multi-meter. I swapped the driver side socket and bulb (known to be working) to the passenger side and vice versa. To eliminate a bad socket thought. The socket and bulb worked on the driver side, so that eliminates that.
Next, I followed the three wires. (Red=power Black=ground Green=blinker) Self explanatory. Followed them into the harness where they are in the wire loom and electrical tape. Nothing wrong there.
Next I broke out the multimeter... Turned the running lights on and the flashers. The red wire was getting around 11.30 volts and the Green wire was getting 4.97 fluctuating though as the lights blink I suppose. Obviously this is a problem and probably "the" problem.
Any help here?

I did replace the bulb with the correct one. Sylvania 1157a I believe it was.
Could the ground be the problem, even though the running lights (solid amber) light up with no problem? I do remember recently re-grounding a wire with my HID right under the headlight. When I re-grounded it, I was tightening down the bolt and it stripped I guess (You can tighten it down to a certain amount but it will get loose if you go too tight) At the time, I didn't think it was a big deal... Maybe that could be the problem, or part of the problem?

I can't seem to find that plug. My car is wire tucked, and k swapped if that makes a difference. (It shouldn't because that plug doesn't change) I looked up under the passenger side dash but the only green/yellow wire goes into my hyrbid racing conversion harness.
Okay, that clears up where it is located.
Noob electrician question... How do you test if the ground is good or not?
Keep in mind, the blinkers were all working perfectly fine until the other day.

Thanks for the help guys. Sorry for the late response, I have been pretty busy lately with work. No time to work on the car.
I did however find the problem. I pulled the fender and bumper off, revealing all the wires. I cut off and opened up the harness to expose the individual wires. I tracked the green wire and found it spliced down the road. (this was the problem)
Got it fixed and back up and running with no problems and a MUCH cleaner harness. thanks to the spare time and patience.
Only to find out though my intermittent multi-switch problem now became permanent. LOL Eff me right? Trying to track down a working one right now. (Can't afford the brand new one since the K series is getting an overhaul)
