Aftermarket Headunit Reinstall Woes
I had to take out my headunit and the DIN cage to get to my climate control unit. I am having a hell of a time putting the headunit back in. Is it possible to put a DIN cage in wrong? I know you have to push the headunit in really hard to get it to lock in, which I have done before in the past but it is not working now. I pushed so hard that I broke a piece of plastic behind where the headunit would sit.
Is this plastic piece important for anything?

I don't think that plastic piece is important, and just work it in and look in the creases and make sure its not getting caught up on anything. any little piece of plastic can make it pretty hard to get in especially if the little slits on the cage is bent.
Also, it seems that I can't get my DIN cage back in how it used to be. I cannot bend more than a few of those tabs because the OEM plastic trim is in the way. I remember before I unbent and removed the cage, there were a bunch of the tabs somehow underneath the OEM plastic.
