wtf is up with my car?
So went to the mechanic today to change my fuel filter. Seems like the pervious owner never changed it in the 118k miles they had it. So the mechanic told me that it was REALLY dirty. Along with that the hose going to the filter was rusted out. So they put the new filter on but could change the hose because they have to order it from honda ( came out to about 120$). I needed to go to work so I ask them to finish what they were doing so I could go to work and then it started. It was running well untill I came to a stop. Once I hit a red light, the car shut off(all the electronics still worked) and it seemed like the car would idle. I drove back to the mechanic and they checked the fuel pressure and that was fine and they also checked the compression and that was fine. He said that it could be a time problem with the ignition system or something like that. So now I'm looking so some opinions from you guys. What could it be? Thanks ahead of time!

Also it has been having problems starting up. Seems like it wasn't getting enough fuel to startup. If it didn't start up right away I would give it some gas and then it would start up.
Since the fuel system was just messed with, and you seem to think there was not enough fuel to start up, I'd recommend checking your fuel pressure
Specs are: engine idling 38psi-46psi fuel pres reg vacuum hose attached.
47-54psi hose off.

The mechanic checked it. Was 45 psi with the hose attached
You failed to mention whether there were any issues whatsoever PRIOR to them replacing the fuel filter. You don't need to replace the fuel hoses when replacing the fuel filter. Even if they are dirty they can and should outlast your vehicle unless someone actually deliberately tried to damage them.
Furthmore, you said "Also" which tends to mean there is another issue that you haven't told us about.
So drop us some more info.

45psi with the vacuum hose attached at idle is above normal. Now if you meant to say with the hose disconnected. Then you would be in the wheel house.
@ idle with vacuum hose connected = 30-37psi
@ idle with vacuum hose disconnected = 38-46psi
@ idle with vacuum hose connected = 30-37psi
@ idle with vacuum hose disconnected = 38-46psi
