B18 Tranny Went Out, Good Source For One?
My tranny just ate itself, so I need a new/rebuilt one, rather not risk a junk yard pull. Can someone point in the right direction for a reputable source? I'm in Portland, OR if you know of something around here otherwise looking for good sites to go through.
It's a b18a1 from a 93 integra with cable tranny.

Get a JDM B16A cable trans from Hmotorsonline. You can pay for the shipping or pick it up in Cali.
You may also risk craigslist or the market section.

manual right? try man trans in Tallahassee I know several people who have had them rebuild manuals and they do really good work, all they work on are manuals, they ship so it doesnt matter what part of the country you are in
Yeah, the yard is my fall back plan. It's drastically cheaper, but it's a lot of work ha ha! Especially if it has any issues. That's good to know on the b16 trans, I bet that would be a fun upgrade. I looked on thier site though and it doesnt look they have any right now.

I ran into a problem when changing from my LS trans to a B16 trans on my B18c1. throw-out bearings were different on the two and the one on the B16 wouldn't work with my clutch. Had to swap them. Was odd as I had both transmissions on my B18a1 and didn't run into that problem.

B-series trans are interchangeable. The clutches are not in some occassions. I believe the clutch is trans specific. Also, make sure it is cable operated. That's one thing about the B16 trans that is nice, it's an easy change over. Give them a call, that's the easiest way to see if they have one. Their website isn't updated.
I don't recommend junk yards. I did two you pull trans, not refundable, and now my SI D16 has a DX trans with no third gear syncro. I gave up at that point and said it was good enough.
