I own a 1994 Honda Accord LX wagon with a regular 2.2 engine. The car has been extremely dependable until the cold weather arrived in November. The car will start fine if it is used every day, but when the car has been sitting for several days it will fire and act like it wants to start but does not. It acts like it is starved for fuel or flooded. I can leave it after cranking the engine continuously for several minutes and come back after a few hours and it will start right up as if nothing is wrong. I have cleaned the carbon out of the distributor cap and off the rotor. There is no check engine light on nor does the exhaust smell like raw gas while running. I happen to be deaf so I do not know if any abnormal noises are occurring while I am attempting to start the car. The car runs great and does not idle rough (no vibrations are felt) and it still gets good mileage for the age of the vehicle. I am trying to avoid replacing parts until the problem is solved as I do not have the extra income for the trial and error method. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Classsicalcliff

 

Fuel pressure regulator may be the culprit as it is responsible for having certain pressure in fuel rail. If that is not making that happen the fuel rail needs time to prime

 

more prime time was my thought exactly.
